Our Sustainability Mission

Gore Street Capital builds and operates renewable energy solutions that support the transition to a cleaner, cheaper and more secure energy system.

We believe that climate change is one of the biggest threats to our collective future. Gore Street Capital was founded to support the fight against climate change by providing the infrastructure needed to phase out fossil fuels and integrate more renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, into the grid. It is our mission to be a leader in creating and implementing solutions to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable world.

Our values guide us on our way to achieving that mission. They are part of our DNA and define how we engage with each other, our partners and our stakeholders. Embedding these principles in our daily work helps us to become a more responsible business, employer and corporate citizen.

We aim to:

  • Invest in transformative energy systems;
  • Acquire, build & manage high-performing assets with discipline;
  • Work in an open, collaborative, dynamic and inclusive environment;
  • Be ambitious in our role in energy transition.

Our Approach

We continuously work to advance our sustainability agenda and strive to integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into our acquisition, construction and operations activity.

What our Team Does
Each box tells you more about what we do!
1. Asset identification and assessment
The investment team considers possible ESG-related exclusions as part of the assessment of investment opportunities and routinely runs market analyses of each grid network under consideration. The company works with advisors to evaluate the policy landscape and regulatory environment alongside location-specific climate-related risks such as flooding. Gore Street Capital has established a strong network of project developers with a deep understanding of early-stage project development to ensure that projects identified for investments meet or will meet land, planning and grid energisation requirements by the time of acquisition.
2. Acquisition execution and onboarding of new assets/projects
Gore Street Capital manages the acquisition process from bid to close, using third parties to assist with due diligence and remove biases when assessing opportunities. The commercial team supports the onboarding process of new assets by screening route-to-market partners before working with the rest of the technical team to begin implementation and detailed preparation for commissioning tests and access to revenue streams. The company is increasingly interested in local flexibility markets to improve grid stability in the immediate areas around its projects and utilises local suppliers and partners, which can be beneficial to local communities.
3. Procurement and construction
Gore Street Capital has an in-house procurement team, with the legal and technical expertise to negotiate all key contracts for project engineering, construction and obtaining warranties for continued battery performance. The construction and development team are responsible for monitoring project buildout, including holding relevant stakeholders accountable for cost and quality control, and timeline management. ESG factors are integrated into supplier due diligence as well as contracts with EPC partners.
4. Performance optimisation, responsible management and monitoring
Gore Street Capital is responsible for managing relationships with stakeholders, monitoring technical performance and maximising availability of its clients’ assets to deliver revenue. The team‘s weighting towards remote monitoring and maintenance services over site visits minimises distance travelled by personnel, which can reduce the environmental footprint of operations.
